How to Fix Pixel 6a WiFi Not Working?

Fix 1: Restart/Reset Your WiFi Router

The most common issue that can cause the failure of the WiFi network is the WiFi router itself. These routers come in a small form factor which runs 24×7 without a single pause. This causes the router to heat up and eventually the internal parts stop working after some time. Once a part stops working, this can cause the router to lose its range and visibility and even lose the ability to connect to the internet. So, to prevent these issues, you should always restart your router in every few days.

To restart your router, turn the power button off on the electric board and wait for 30 seconds. After that, turn on the power button again and wait for the router to fully power on. It typically takes another 30 seconds to connect to the internet and make the WiFi networks visible. However, if this does not solve the issue, you might have to reset your router.

To restart your router, follow the steps below:

  • First, find the reset button (a small hole) on the rear side of your router.
  • Once you find it, take a sim card ejector tool or a pin and insert it into the reset button.
  • Now keep the button pressed for 5-10 seconds once the router goes to the factory state.
  • Once the reset is done, connect to the default network and open the admin panel of your router.
  • Finally, set up your router with the preferred settings and check if the issue is solved or not.

Fix 2: Check for Issues with Your ISP

If restarting or resetting your router did not solve your issue, there might be chances that there is a problem with your internet connectivity itself. Android system disconnects from a WiFi network that does not have an internet connection. Android prefers to use the best possible network connectivity and hence you have to make sure that there is no problem with your internet. So, the best possible way to overcome this issue is to contact your ISP and verify if there are any internet issues or not. Once your internet connection is fixed, it will also fix the WiFi connectivity issue with your Pixel 6a.

Fix 3: Reconnect to the WiFi Network

It is quite easy to reconnect to the WiFi network as you just have to forget your current WiFi network once, and then again connect to the network again. Seems quite easy, right? There is a probability that it can solve the issue as it resets the WiFi network. Check the steps below to reset your WiFi network very easily:

  • Once the details page appears, tap on the “Forget” button and agree to any popup.
  • Once the WiFi is disconnected, get back to the WiFi page again and tap on your WiFi network and connect to it.
  • Once you are connected, check if the WiFi is properly working or not.

Fix 4: Try with Another WiFi Network

If reconnecting to your WiFi network didn’t fix the issue, you should try connecting to another WiFi network. Well, we know that most of us do not have more than one router in our homes and hence if you have a phone with you, try connecting to its Hotspot and see if the issue persists or not. If the issue persists, you have to follow the next steps respectively. If the issue is fixed, you might now have to visit your router’s service centre and get it checked or buy a new one.
